How much does Attenalert cost?
The service is billed at a fixed monthly rate (£4.99) and a variable, per word per month fee (£0.99). There is a free 7 day trial during which time you can try out the service without any commitment. Should you wish to continue, you can add your card details at any time and we will bill you once your trial is up. Otherwise, you can just close your account.
Do you accept payment in US Dollars?
Yes we do - £4.99 is approximately $9.90 and £0.99 is approximately $1.951. We are a UK company so our pricing is quoted in GBP. For accurate conversion into USD and other currencies, please see xe.com. You will be billed in GBP and your card company will automatically convert it to your own currency.
What is a "word"?
Attenalert finds online references to specific words and phrases as entered by you. You are billed for each word/phrase added to your account.
A word/phrase could be anything from product name e.g. "Attenalert" to the name of a person e.g. "William Shakespeare". The fact that "Attenalert" is a single actual word but "William Shakespeare" is two actual words makes no difference; they are both counted as one "word" each as far as the system is concerned.
How is the fee calculated?
The amount you pay is based upon the maximum number of words you have added to your account for the previous month; this is known as the high-water mark.
For example if you add 5 words to your account at the beginning of the month and then remove one later in that same month, you will be billed for 5 words. The following month if you do not add any more words, for that month you will be billed for 4 words.
Is there a simple formula this is based on?
Total fee = Monthy fee + (Per word fee * monthly high-water mark)
What if my trial ends in the middle of a month?
We bill all accounts on the 1st of every month so your account will be pro-rated from the end of your trial to the next billing date. This means you do not pay for a whole month if your account has not been open for that entire period.
Can I cancel my account?
Yes. There is no minimum term and you can cancel at any time through your control panel. If you cancel in the middle of the month, you will be billed on the next billing date for the period of the last billing date up to the date of cancellation. This means you do not pay for the remainder of the month if you cancel.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and JCB cards.
Do you provide refunds?
The service is billed based on what you have used in the past. Since you are not billed in the future for what you have not yet used, there is nothing to refund!
